North Bennet Street School students and teachers worked with the DCR to successfully disassemble the historic barn at Brookwood Farm. The pieces of the barn will be stored at NBSS in Arlington, MA until the fall when students will start repairing the old barn. Steven O'Shaughnessy, the Department Head of Preservation Carpentry at NBSS says these repairs may take two years or more to complete.
O'Shaughnessy also explained that through Dendrochronology (the study of tree rings), we will soon know with accuracy the age of the barn.
